Holiday Music Is Gift That Keeps on Giving for KOST

kostxmaslogo(January 28, 2010) KOST was the dominant station in the just-released Holiday ’09 Arbitron Monthly PPM 6+. The survey period started December 10 and concluded January 6. KOST started the all-Christmas music the Thursday before Thanksgiving and continued until the day after Christmas. The jump for KOST, with predominately holiday music, which they have owned for years, went from 5.5 – 8.1. Runner-up was KIIS/fm, which went up 4.7 – 4.9, followed by K-EARTH, which remained constant at 4.4.

In morning drive, Bill Handel was #1 and the KOST morning duo of Mark Wallengren and Kristin Cruz moved from 6th to 2nd.

WOW... Talk radio sure has taken a dive. No wonder so many people are getting fired or is it that the ratings are down because the people fired had a loyal group of fans who left with them? It's a sad state indeed... since Talk radio is a form of community to vent and rant.

What happened to KKGO??? Looks like their numbers are down by almost HALF from a year or so ago. Anyone know what's going on over there????
